same weapons to perpetrate murder, robbery and other crimes against society. This was an, is, an issue of character and intent. It has never been about the weapon being used. Man will continue to kill man for as long as he walks this earth. There will always be murder and all the other crimes perpetrated against society. When gunpowder was created and man made cannons, he eventually figured out a way to turn this into a small weapon then known as a hand cannon. This gave him an edge over his enemy with a knife.

Taking away guns does not change the criminal’s motives, only the weapon they would be able to use to commit their crimes. School shootings will become bombings or stabbings or maybe even poisoning. If we the people of the United States ever allow our government to take away our guns, we will not be contributing to a lower crime rate or less school killings or safer homes. It will be the end of our freedom. The only reason we are still a democracy and not a dictatorship is because we the people are armed with our guns, could take back our country if we had to. Never believe for one minute that the intent to take away our guns rights is about, protecting us or lowering crime. It is about fear. That fear belongs to those who govern us.

They fear us because we could overthrow them, just as we did when we won our independence from England. Our government needs to be aware that it is we the people and not they the government that rules us. With an open mind think this through, look up and read the stories of what has happened in other countries when guns have been taken away. This happened in Germany when Hitler took control. It happened in Africa, Rwanda, and many other countries. Read about the crime rate in Great Brittan. An armed United States is a free United States. United we stand, divided we fall.

And of course the story would not be complete without our most devastating weapon the atomic bomb.

Our nation ruled the world with fear from the bombing of Japan until the cold war. We are still at the top, but for how long? If we continue down the path we are going it may not be much longer.

Did either man’s motive change because his weapon changed? No! The problem then just as it is now is the same. It is motive, the character of the persons with the weapon. Today we have modern hand cannons (what we now call guns) that can fire multiple shots one right after another. Criminals perpetrate crimes using these weapons, good people defend their homes and properties with these weapons. Taking away guns will never change the character of man nor will it help people to protect themselves. Instead it will make it easier for the criminals to prey on the innocent. If criminals don’t have guns they will use knives, if they don’t have knives they will use clubs.
